SEAOIL launches BioXCEED Diesel with 1% CME
MANILA, Philippines (3 May 2007) – Biofuels major Seaoil is launching today a new diesel fuel that will reduce harmful emissions from the millions of diesel cars particularly jeepneys plying the country’s roads.
Called BioXceed, the new diesel fuel contains oxygenates that facilitate complete combustion, thereby resulting in lower emissions and added power.
Seaoil President Glenn Yu said BioXceed will initially be available at Seaoil’s Metro Manila stations.
“Diesel cars from Metro Manila can now try the BioXceed and instantly see for themselves the reduced emissions from their vehicles. This product is another contribution of Seaoil for the preservation of our environment,” he said.
Seaoil stations in the provinces will start carrying BioXceed next week in time for the implementation of the 2007 Biofuels Law.
To show that BioXceed works, Seaoil is giving free emission testing to diesel cars at its E. Rodriguez Avenue station near Welcome rotonda in Quezon City for several hours today. This will be repeated tomorrow at Seaoil Pritil, a favorite of jeepney drivers in Tondo, Manila.
Laboratory tests have shown that BioXceed lowers carbon dioxide emission significantly. The reduction is substantial enough that in most cases, vehicles that failed the Land Transportation Office emission testing passed after switching to BioXceed.
According to Yu, BioXceed’s secret is its unique blend of diesel additives and CME more commonly known coco methyl ester. CME is a biofuel derived from coconut that adds oxygen molecules to regular petroleum diesels.
Because of its higher oxygen content, BioXceed is burned completely by the engine, leaving no unburned carbon molecules which, to most jeepneys, are emitted as black smoke.
And because every molecule of BioXceed is burned and converted to energy, jeepney drivers would experience a surge in power and longer mileage from their fuel.
Seaoil is the pioneer in the promotion of clean-burning fuels in the Philippines. It is the first oil company to sell E10, a higher-octane gasoline with a blend of 10% ethanol. Soon, all oil companies will follow Seaoil’s lead because of the requirements of the Biofuels Law.
